Graduation 2020

Please join with other CORE Charter School families in the comfort of your own home to virtually celebrate the graduating class of 2020.

GATHER your graduate and family members in your household, and also send the link to extended family members and friends who are far away so they may participate in their own homes. Everyone will tune in at 6:30 pm with the sense that we are together even while remaining physically apart. It will be as special as we make it. You may even capture special memories as you stream the virtual ceremony through your TV as a backdrop to your family celebration, then video and/or photograph your home event. Later post to your favorite social media, and share this graduation that will go down in history.

ALL the things you would expect at graduation will be part of this one-of-a-kind ceremony: Pomp and Circumstance, the flag salute, the National Anthem, Mr. Mahurin’s important words, speeches, an award ceremony, the traditional turning of the tassel,  and it will all culminate in a spectacular slide show of our seniors which includes memories of their years at CORE. And yes, we will even read personal paragraphs, a favorite part of our ceremony. 

THIS IS HOW IT WILL WORK. You’ll be notified when caps and gowns are ready for a pick-up at the LRC. At this time we will take your graduation photo inside the LRC to be used in the ceremony.

ON GRADUATION NIGHT dress up and pretend you are going out to a graduation even though you are staying in. This in itself makes one smile. Graduates wear your caps and gowns (tassel on the right, initially). Prepare reception food ready to go for your after-party. Click the link when the ceremony starts at 6:30, and join the pre-recorded ceremony, as the entire school community will do. Don’t be late. Have cameras ready. Don’t forget the flowers for your graduate. Then share your experience on your favorite social media. Graduation programs will be mailed to you in advance as a keepsake of your Graduation 2020 experience.
